Didar Photo Club

Didar Photo Club is a small and dynamic community that strives to create a space for learning, dialogue, and making connections. The club's activities take place at Didar Art Gallery, and participation is open to everyone. The core of the club consists of its members, who define and execute how activities are carried out.
The club's activities began in 1402 [2023] with the second "Didar with Artists" exhibition and "Light Room." Since then, over 30 programs—including discussion sessions on students' works, artist talks, panels, and workshops—have been held in this space.
Membership in the club is responsibility-based. Members run all programs collaboratively, relying on teamwork and shared responsibilities. They regularly participate in decision-making meetings and friendly gatherings, while also sharing their feedback on each other's works.
Programs
Light Room
"Light Room" is the monthly program of Didar Photo Club, providing a space for presenting students' photo-based works and discussing them. In each session, two students present one of their works and listen to the comments and suggestions of the attendees.
Portrait Room
In the "Portrait Room," we converse with artists working with the medium of photography. We explore their body of work, ask about their artistic life, and hear about the context, anad events, and other artworks that have influenced their work.
Work Room
In the "Work Room," we hold practical or theoretical workshops that strive to fill gaps in the educational environment of photography, or provide an opportunity to learn familiar topics more deeply.
Pinhole Room
The "Pinhole Room" encompasses a range of meetings and discussions where photographic activities are explored theoretically. These sessions feature individuals or groups sharing perspectives on their specific area of study. The Pinhole Room can take various forms, such as paper and thesis presentations, discussion panels, or experience-sharing sessions. Interested individuals or groups can contact us to host a meeting.
Photo Exchange
The "Photo Exchange" event is held twice a year, during which participants exchange their photographs with one another. This event takes place away from the art market environment, and no buying or selling occurs. The Photo Exchange is an opportunity to meet other photographers and to experience the joy of exchanging artworks.
