Passing, Installation
The passing builds endurance. The comings and goings of years make difficulty and feasibility intertwined and they are concurrently engaged into the past. But the blistering pace of time in weaving continues in a slow and steady way. As I pursue it and as I accept what exists, I practice life at the moment; for persistence and survival.
This work is a combination of weavings being performed individually and sometimes within a participatory framework in different spaces since 2016. On this display, all participatory parts have been separated and now the work is presented within a new framework.

Moband, Sculpture
The "moband" was a tool used by women in the past to tie their hair. It was made in various forms from gold, silver, or brass, depending on each person's financial status.
Multiple "mobands" were attached throughout the hair, so that as women moved or walked, the sound of them clinking together could be heard.

Purge (Emesis), Sculpture
To "Purge" (Emesis) means to consciously induce vomiting to rid someone of that which ails and torments the soul. The act of exposing the irritant agent when it can no longer be avoided or ignored.
In the past, emesis was considered a manual preventative method to purify the body of toxins and impurities to calm and lighten the body.
This is precisely the same life-saving act the artist does with the consequent accumulation of the painful process of observation, experience, and understanding a particular matter; expressing and objectifying the problem into a concrete form or work of art.
Aniseh Salehnia
Untitled, Installation
In the repetition that brings forth restoration or enhancement, a transformation in the habitual pattern is essential to prevent the recurrence of the prior narrative. This necessitates an intentional metamorphosis or alteration of the pattern, whereby the resulting defamiliarization disrupts the previous process and shatters the cycle of former detrimental behavior.
