Studio-Based Artist Residency Open Call

The basement spaces of Didar Art Gallery are made available for artists to support the process of creating artworks, conducting research, and offering an environment for focused practice and experimentation. At the end of each residency period, there may be an opportunity to hold an open studio and/or an exhibition presenting the outcomes of the residency.

Residency Type: Studio-based residency. A workspace (studio) will be provided for the artist. Overnight accommodation is not available.

Residency Duration: From one week to several months, depending on the artist's proposal and the gallery's schedule.

Access Hours: According to the schedule announced by the gallery.

Costs:

Use of the studio is subject to the residency studio fee.
The costs of food, transportation, materials and equipment for producing the work, and any other incidental expenses are the responsibility of the artist.
Didar Art Gallery provides the studio space and basic facilities. Any specialized tools or equipment required for the project must be supplied by the artist.

Studio Spaces:

Didar Gallery includes three basement studio spaces. Applicants should specify their preferred studio in their proposal.
It is also possible to arrange a visit to the studios in advance by prior coordination.

The floor plans provided are approximate and do not include details such as wall recesses or projections. Measurements are based on the usable floor area.

Proposal

Interested applicants may submit their proposals via Google Form.

The proposal should include the following:

1. Project title
2. Project description – the main idea and research question (100–300 words)
3. The significance and necessity of the project
4. What final outcome or form do you envision? (painting, installation, video, performance, theoretical research, etc.)
5. Timeline
6. Portfolio – upload 5 to 10 images
7. Required materials, resources, and tools
8. Proposed final presentation (open studio, exhibition, etc.)

After the review process has been completed, applicants whose proposals are accepted will be contacted by our team for further coordination.
We strive to respond to every submission. However, if you have not received a message from us within three weeks after the submission deadline, it means that your proposal has not been selected for this round.
Upon acceptance, you will receive further information regarding the studio spaces, available facilities, access, and the terms of use. The residency will begin only after these terms and regulations have been accepted.
